+ in Search not working
Hi,
I'm trying to find info on getting a carnet for a Thai registered bike. So, in the search box I put +thai +carnet I get mostly pages with only one of the search terms. What gives? |

use google with argument of
thai carnet site:horizonsunlimited.com gets 145 hits, all valid, one of which is your question :) |

that search engine is crap - it's vbulletin default - new one in progress, currently working through the first indexing, a BIG task and load on the server, and then we have to find and fix the glitches - and there's thousands need to be sorted. so soon, relatively speaking... Good tip Tim! Didn't use to work all that well as they didn't have every page indexed, but we're so big now and such a high rank that they're back every day indexing us, so not bad now. |
note - it seems to work fine for me! LOGGED in I get 36 hits, and a random check looks like it does have both terms on all pages.
NOT logged in I get 346, and no, it's not right - there are loads of pages with one or the other. You MUST be logged in to get the right results! vbulletin :censored: Also note that the google results won't be "right" in the way we want either - as they will include the menus - many of which say "carnet" but we don't care if it's on the menu as that's not relevant of course. so... new search engine coming.... |
Yes, I was logged on when performing the search.
Thanks for all your time Grant and everybody else. I'll just use Google for now. |
