Tiger Tyres

:scooter:I'm on my second set of Anakee's. They have perform really well over the last 14,000 miles. Done Track days at Donington Park, been to Alps, Germany, never had any problems. Definitely recomend these.

My first choich for the old (nice) Tiger is the Tourance. The first km are not so good, its a craazy feeling from the front. But if you know how it works, its no problem. On wet or dry streets its the best i ever had. The Anakee is nearly the same, but the Tourance lasts for min. 14.000 km, the Anakee max. half the distance.

Conti TKC 80's on a '98 Steamer

:scooter:?c?Hi there, I've just bought a '98 Steamer and can't wait to get back on a Triumph after a year's break due to a temporary move abroad. Used to have a Trident 900, but the 'old' Tiger has always been on my radar screen...
Anyway, I wonder, if anyone of you has made experiences with Continental TKC 80's on a Steamer, as I'm planning to have them fitted for a trip to Iceland in 2009.
Seems to be an exotic choice, as this tyre hasn't been mentioned yet in this forum, but I have heard a lot of good things about it from other brand riders.

Good tires overall. I prefer Dunlop for same type of riding.

Many thanks for your useful advice, Patrick.
I'll be looking into Dunlop D606 and Metzeler Tourance as more long distance proof alternatives as well.

Hi Hans,

next new tire wil be Heidenau K 60. If your bike is not listed at their homepage, send tem a mail. They will answer very fast and many things are possible. I dont know the quality of their tires, but i will try.

I know a guy who runs K60s under Tiger and rates them high as I do on my GS.

Heidi's quality is superb per its surprisingly low price IMHO. K60s make a much cheaper alternative to the expensive Conti TKC80s.

Ride safe, Margus

I ran a K60 rear on the oufit over the winter and am impressed.

Got to wear out (read square off) a Bridgestone before I get back on the Heidenau, but I'd say they are good value.

Andy
