Vancouver-Auckland..reasonable prices???
 

Humans, I've gotten quotes from All Cargo Express to send my DL650 from Canada to New Zealand. Do you think these prices are reasonable? They seem huge to me but..i dunno.
By sea, 2-4 weeks, $1120c shipping, cleaning & crating $350c, destination charges $1240c (customs clearance, inspection, fumigation, etc..) = $2710canadian by boat.
By Air New Zealand Cargo $2580c, same crating, and about $1000c destination charges = $3900c by air. I don't no what to do!!!!

Not quite the same, but I've looked into shipping a bike from the UK to NZ and the price was £600 ($1000) for the shipping. Cleaning is necessary due to the strict enforcements in NZ and my understanding is that NZ customs then levy a charge based on the value of the bike + shipping.
Sounds a great plan for a trip, hope you get there :)
