Train for motorcycle, Amsterdam - Barcelona

I am planning a month long trip from Barcelona to Eastern Europe. It would be great if at the end of the trip we could fly in from Frankfurt or Amsterdam (very cheap, 39 euros each) and ship the bike by train, since it would give us 2 more days to stay at beautiful places rather than boring travel in highway. Thinking about it, being able to ship it there (Prague, Vienna, etc) would also be nice...

Anyone knows if it is possible to ship by train and have any ideas of the costs, or how I could research them? Would I need to crate the bike?

Of course, given the short distance if the costs are anything significant we will just drive ourselves down to Barcelona.

Best wishes,

Juan Miguel Venturello

Hello Juan,
there are auto-train connections from several larger german cities to Narbonne.
You may look them up here:

An overview of european auto-trains is given here:

Good luck!

Thanks Dirk. Your links and this one: http://www.eurodestination.co.uk/rai...l/motorail.htm should help us out a lot.

Best wishes,

Juan
