Shipping UK to Argintina/Chilie
Hi All
As Berndf but from uk - any advice on good/cheap shipping from UK to Buenos Aries/Santigo (pref by air)? Thanks |
I airfreighted my bike to Buenos Aires in November 02. I used a company called Town & Country in Burnley, Lancashire. They weren't great got it done in the end. I referred another guy to them afterwards and they seemed to have learned from the experience and did a better job for him. They quoted me £450 (on the basis of 200 kg). On top of that, expect to pay about £50 for the dangerous cargo paperwork.
I took the handle bars and the front wheel off and got a shipping crate from a dealer. They usually give these away, just call around and ask. I then dropped the bike off at Heathrow and picked it up in BA. I have posted on this site (around January 03) a comprehensive guide to collecting your bike from BA airport which you might find useful. See http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/ubb...ML/000347.html Enjoy your trip! |
Hi,
Santiago de Chile is a much easyer place to receive your bike. Without any help you,ll get your bike through customs in 2 hours.... even if you don,t speak any spanish. Keep in mind that warehouse charges are about 25 USD a day... so get it out as soon as you can and don,t ship it on a friday. Maarten ------------------ - www.maartensworld.com - - Some photo's - |
