Shipping sea freight into UK, Crate materials
 

Hi

I am going to ship from NZ to UK soon.

Is there any restriction on crate packaging eg ISPM15 etc or fumigation cert for LCL load into UK?

Hi Fern,
I have shipped back to the UK a few times and never heard of such a thing or had any problem.

I work at a motorbike dealer, we have loads of metal crates out the back, but they have no sides whatsover, so I might just encase one with plywood. Being next to a freight yard, and seeing the damage to the brand new bikes that come in, I do want to build up the base with wooden blocks to mitigate forklift damage, especially as it will probably change container in the far east somewhere.

A metal crate with plywood sides sounds good and I can't see anyone having a problem with it.
