Shipping Mongolia to Australie in October 2025
Hi there,
do to the problems in Pakistan/India I changed my travel plans completely. I will start riding within the end of the month and hope to arrive in Mongolia sometime early August. Anyhow - my plan for now is to get my motorbike shipped to Australia from Ulaanbaatar. And then I just turn around my trip starting from there travelling back to Germany via Indonesia Asia etc. Does anyone know if this transport is even possible? As far as I know does Australia not allow airfreight from certain countries?!? And since they don't have a harbour might by impossible to find a vessel. Any ideas? Greetings |
I cant answer your question perfectly, however, As an Aussie can I throw an idea into the mix based on my experience here and in Indonesia.
Its such a hassle flying your bike here, then getting across to Timor, then through the islands to bali, and on from there. One hassle is the time it takes to drop your bike off to a container in Darwin, and then weeks or even over a month for it to get to Timor. Prices are all over the shop at the moment. You could just fly to Australia, buy a bike here and register it using an Australian address, ride australia, then sell the bike and fly into indonesia. Fly your bike into SE asia and go from there. I am happy to let you use my address in SE Qld, and if you are happy to do a bike swap you can ride my KLE500 here in Oz. I know it nostalgic to ride your own bike all the way, but when a bike in Indonesia is like $10USD a day, it doesnt really make much viable sense. You could fly your bike to Singapore/Malaysia. If interested send me a PM. Cheers Homer |
