Hi Spud

We have shipping information from Tehran by Iran Air to Kuala Lumpur on the Shipping Page
at this link.

I would expect the air cargo company who worked with Kathryn Yore could also arrange shipping to India or elsewhere.

Good luck and keep in touch. If you do end up shipping from Iran to wherever, please don't forget to fill in the Shipping Form, so other travellers can benefit.

Many thanks Susan.

I have made contact with the people who may be able to fly the bikes to India. I shall certainly post the outcome and fill in the Shipping form if thats what happens. We have met people who have come the other way (from Pakistan) and they have had no issues but that was a week ago and the situation has changed quite a bit it seems.

Thanks again

Hi, Getting long Visa's for Iran is difficult, and getting long extensions is sometimes difficult also.

It is hoped by all that the situation between India and Paksitan will blow over as opposed to blow up.

If your in no great rush, then the situation may present you with the ideal excuse for having an extended stay in Iran. You should be able to twist somebody's ear long enough to get a 2-3 month stay once your in the country given the tension between India and Paksiatn together - and its a big country and very cheap.

Just a thought ;-)

I've been led to believe there is a ferry across the Straight of Hormuz to Dubai & that you can ship/fly the bike from there.
Don't know the specifics though.....

Hi
Iran visa for 30 days was no problem whatsoever. I hear getting an extension hear is not an issue either. I have a 30 day pakistan visa and 'Iris and Trui' (two Belgians) are in pakistan at the moment and say all is well. I think we are going to check the situation with the border between Pak and India. No one seems to know anything even the embassies. I shall keep you posted.

thanks for the responses about this. Myself and 'GS George' made it through Pakistan end of last week and now we are in Delhi. The crossing of Pakistan presented no problems whatsoever and the border at Wagah (India and Pakistan) was very much open so no shipping was required.

Cheers
