Shipping from Bolivia or Peru
The original plan was to ship from Equador but things change and am now thinking of transporting my bike back to the UK from either Bolivia or Peru.
Any info, tips or recommendations gratefully received. Cheers |
Suggest you contact the international companies such as Hellman Worldwide Logistics, Panalpina, and P&O Nedlloyd in the first instance. Links to their websites, which will give you their local addresses, are on the Shippers page:

Thanks Susan
Unfortunately it seems that these companies have more business than they know what to do with as they (Hellmans and Panalpina) have not bothered to reply to my e mails. I have however found a local outfit called RECSA INTERNATIONAL S.A. in Lima who have been helpful. I will let you know how it all works out. |
Hi
I shipped my bike from LIma Peru to Sydney, australia with Nedlloyd. It wasnt too easy and had to be done in person.Even in person I had some difficulties. There was not sufficient docos for customs at Lima's end, finally,I was told to take the bike to the dock's myself where it would be "crated" at an additioinal cost of $us150. And to make it worse,I literally had to leave the key on the bike in this huge yard, good thing I ensured it,when it landed in Sydney(6 weeks later) it had been just place inside a container with lots of boxes stacked to the ceiling of the container and of course you guessed it...no crate. You are best to ship from Lima,it will defenetly be much cheaper and there will be less paper work to fill out. |
