Shipping/flying bikes to Scotland from San Francisco, Vancouver or Anchorage
 

Has anybody got experience and an idea of costs for shipping a bike to Scotland from the west coast of the US or Canada? I'm stll wondering whether to ride very quickly east at the end of my trip or ship it from the west coast. I'll be shipping around early/mid september.

I paid around $1100usd to ship from Vancouver to Paris in April of 2005. It would have been about the same to ship to London. Its probably cheapest to ship to London vs. Scotland. Shipping from Canada was cheaper than shipping from the US a couple of years ago, but probably less so now as the Canadian dollar has gotten stronger. Thanks Dave. I also hear that it's possible to fly out of Anchorage to Frankfurt, Germany via Lufthansa. Has anyone used these guys?
