Shipping destination for engine in Croatia
 

We've got 2 Kawasaki KLR250's parked in Croatia, one of which is currently missing it's engine due to repairs.

The repairs are done now and we need the engine shipped back to Croatia, but as it is (relatively) heavy and the final destination is in a village that is barely on the map, we can't send it there directly.

Therefore we are looking for a place to safely ship it to between Crnomelj (Slovenia) and Karlovac (Croatia), so we can pick it up there somewhere in the week of June 4th.

Any ideas?

I think , the best is to do shipping to Rijeka....
Have port facilities , and for aircraft shipping, Zagreb iz 150km from Rijeka

Thanks for your reply. We're shipping from the Netherlands, so the port won't be needed. However, Zagreb could be an option, and we will probably take a train there.

Do you know any place specific that could receive the package for us and hold it until we arrive?

:Poste restante in Zagreb will hold a package for your for a time .....

I am not sure about that, but this what kawazoki says, have sense....

Check that option.

I have a friend in Croatia who says he's happy to help. He lives in Dubrava which is about 45 mins from Zagreb. If you get a train to Zagreb he can meet you there and a 250 engine will fit his back seat. If you PM me your contact details I'll put you in touch with him.

With some more help we found a Kawasaki dealer in Karlovac who can receive and hold the package for us for a few days :)
It's on its way now, so hopefully we'll be riding by the end of next week :mchappy:

What will be your next trip?

For this trip we decided to play around in Hungary and the Tatra Mountains in Slovakia, Poland and the Czech Republic. Depending on the weather and our mood we'll include either a bit of Croatian coast or the most eastern tip of Ukrain.
If we've got some nice things to share I might post some photos in another tread when we get back.

There will be going some bikes from Croatia to Ukraine by the end of the month June.
Maybe we’ll meet somewhere :-)
