Shipping from Ct, USA to Alaska-advice
 

I am planning a trip in 2016 and wish to ship our 2 bikes from Ct to Alaska by road. Not sure what questions to ask or hidden fees to be aware of when soliciting quotes of transport companies. Any advice would be appreciated.

I sure hope you intend to ride the AlCan highway at least one way....!

You could ship to Seattle and take the Inland Passage ferry from Bellingham to Haines or another AK destination, then ride back down. The ferry books quickly, so if that interests, definitely get on it (we didn't book berths, just slept in large forward observation room).
