Shipping bike from Bangkok to Ulan Baator
 

Has anyone ever shipped a bike from Bangkok to Ulan Baator? Air, rail or whatever. I seem to be unable to find a cargo company that would do that. Any info, anyone?

You would have to go with freight forwarders...
By air, China Air would be a good bet as would Korean Air...China Air would be cheaper is my guess...

BY rail, it would be have to get packed into a container, and there are MANY containers going to UB via China...

The other option is to ship to Korea...take a ferry to Southern Russian(Zurubina) and then ride West...the roads aren't that bad(depending on what time of year)...the Mongolian tracks would be much worse. especially when you start heading out West.

Another option is to buy a bike in UB for the same price you'd ship them there...contact Renee at Oasis campement...or Vait at Extra Tours...
They have bikes for sale/rent that are well maintained...
