Shipping agent in Almaty
 

Anyone has shipped bike/s to Almaty? Procedure wise? Any info is appreciated.

To Almaty...from?

It will be from Singapore. Should i engage an agent in Almaty or has anyone did it themselves?

In 2012 I was part of a group that shipped a container of 12 bikes from Holland to Almaty. The container went by train. I was merely one of the participants and just had to turn up.

The agent used was

Yerzhan sorted everything. We landed at Almaty airport v early on a Saturday morning. Got met and did bike customs paperwork at the airport. Sunday everything was closed. Monday afternoon we got taken to the container depot where it was unloaded. Each bike was crated (12 bikes in 1 container, stacked)

Put the front wheel back in and rode away.

Here's my reply to your PM for all to see: Sorry, no idea about time taken/fees in Almaty etc. It happened as I described above. I just turned up.

I paid 750 euros (not including the pallet) for Holland fees, freight and Almaty fees. 12 x 750 = 9000 euros for the whole thing.
