sharing container from Vladivostok to Germany
 

Hey Guys!

i will ship my bike from Vladivostok to Germany in the End of july 2015 and looking for a container-Buddy.

The Container is arround 4.000 USD.

Pardon me, but can´t you send one MC as one shipment (I mean, do you actually need to “rent” an entire container?)

I don´t know anything about Vladivostok, so could be I´m just plain wrong. But I do know for a fact, that I did NOT need to rent an entire container, when I sent my bike back home to Europe from Sydney, Oz, and it cost me a total of around 700 euros (about 500 in Oz, and a bit less than 200 to pick up at the port in Helsinki). This took nearly 2 months, though. And it was 6,5 years ago too. I believe this type of sea freight was called LCL (“Less than container load” - the bike had to be sent in a crate).

Maybe this is just not possible out of Vladivostok, but could at least be worth checking out, if you do not get many others to share the costs with you. (And also preferably talk to several freight forwarders/agents, so there´s not just one, who may want to sell you expensive stuff, that you do not actually need.)
