New York to UK

Recently shipped two bikes from New York (JFK) to London Heathrow. The combined weight of the bikes were 500kg and we were charged $3110 - an absolute bargain!!!

The carrier was Lufthansa - the bikes are travelling upright on a pallet and not one single part had to be taken off the bike...we just rode them into the warehouse and left them there!!! Very easy!!!

I totally recommend Lufthansa...although, i have yet to pick them up...so i may change my mind if they have droped them!!!

FWIW, you picked two of the most expensive airports in the world so far as freight handling charges are concerned, so, you have every reason to pat yourself on the back about the price you paid.

I normally ship out of Montreal or Toronto to Paris or Frankfurt, and it typically costs me about $1,400 or so for a single, 400 kg moto. Weight is not the issue, cubic volume is.

Sounds to me like you got a good deal, although I would be interested in hearing what supplementary charges you get hit with by the freight handler in LHR.

extra cost

we paid £205 to clear customs (we were too lazy and tired to do it ourselves). That was the only cost.
