Importing a bike from the UK to Australia
 

Hi, i found a bike i would like to import from the UK to Brisbane Australia, any help would be great, link to a freight forwarder, will it have to be created or are there any vehicle importers that do roll in roll out of containers, thanks.

Start by checking the relevant Customs site (temporary importations), quarantine site (Importing motorbikes) and Transport site (Importing Vehicles to Australia).

A few months ago, I visited and spoke personally to 4 freight forwarders in Brisbane and had all 4 start the process of quoting (Hellmann, Schenker, Express Logistics, Vision International). All 4 reps showed varying degrees of interest in shipping my Honda from Brisbane to Europe/return (from happy to do it, to bland). I followed up with emails and a phone call, and in the end, NOT ONE got back to me with a quote!

Dave Milligan of "Get Routed" may be worth a call (GetRouted : Bike shipping and Tour Operator) but you'd better be quick. I ended up sending with him. He's about to fly to London to unpack bikes from Australia and will be shipping containers of bikes back from Felixstowe, ENG to Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne in July, August and September.

Got it all sorted, i import bikes regularly from the States but my freight fordwarder dosnt do the UK thing, but i have it fixed now. thanks.
