Good reasons to ship to Nepal instead of India from Bangkok?
 

There seems to be a lot off Hubb'ers who have shipped from Bangkok to Kathmandu but not so much to Chennai or Kolkota/Calcutta or other southeast India city...
Is their a specific reason for that? A lack of Shipping companies who service that route? Obvious difficulties with Indian customs? Nobody survived the attempt and lives to comment on the procedure? ;-)

Please comment (or direct me to a discussion about this that is already on the hubb?

(I´ve never sent to India, but did send by air out of Chennai 7 yrs ago... and I can tell you, that it was VERY laborous – and that I would NOT try going the other way round!!)

I shipped into Mumbai via air from Istanbul in December 2013. I hired an agent in Mumbai for $200 and it took three days of paperwork and sitting around at the airport to get my bike...not exactly a pleasant experience.

I flew out of Kathmandu to Bangkok, and the paperwork to leave Nepal was pretty quick (quicker than when I left India and rode into Nepal)...so based on that, I'd guess that flying into Kathmandu would be faster, cheaper, and require less blood pressure medication
