Getting from Africa to Europe current problems
Hi All
Im in Dubai, and trying to find a way to Ride to South Africa. Sounds like it is becoming more difficult to get out of Egypt to Europe, with Sinai problems etc. A guy just spent 3 weeks, trying to find a way out, couldt get passed the Suez tunnel to Israel etc, eventually gave up, turned south, now heading back to South Africa. Suadi is a no go, particularly for a woman on a bike. Libya, Tunisia etc are closed. Jordan seems closed to bikes. Has anybody explored shipping from Oman, Muscatt or Salalah, to anywhere in Africa, ie Mombasa, Port Sudan etc? Or visa versa? We will have to find a reliable route somehow!! L |
Lifting the bike from Egypt to Casablanca using Royal Air Maroc (RAM) is a good option to enter South of Spain, alternatively lifting to Istanbul and entering Europe in Bulgaria is also a great option. Not that expensive.
There are numerous posts on cargo/ferry ships to Turkey out of Alexandria. Here's one of them, dating a little though: http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hub...t-turkey-63954 |
