From California to Colombia
 

Hi all,

I'm a Taiwanese who just bought a motorcycle in California and is going to have to tour in South America but ran into some trouble.
I just cannot find a affordable way to ship my bike out of California. Got some quotes from several companies, all shows about 1500 ~ 2000 with sea cargo shipping. And I even got a price of 5000 to ship by air!

So I would like to know if there's anyone done this before? From any city in California(San Fransisco, LA or San Diego) to any city in Colombia. If so, could you please give me the solution? Is ok to ship by air or sea.

Really need some help !! Any suggestion will be super helpful!

My motorcycle is Harley Davidson 2004 sportster XL1200 roadster.

I know some people shipped to Buenaventura from west coast and I'm sure they didn't pay that kind of money.

Might I suggest riding to Panama and doing a container share or other crossing. Lots to see in Central America.

Good to see another rider on an American V2 bike doing this ride.

Thanks for the reply. I really want to ride through Central America. But as a Taiwanese, I don't have 100% possibility to get visas of Costa Rica. If I can get one, I'll definitely go to Central America.
