We probably all have 'other bike' cover on our own policies. Just get a mate to ride it to the port for you. If you have a Danish policy you may even have the same thing so you can ride his bike down so he can get home again. Or buy him a train ticket.:)

Perfectly legal, simple and cheap. Job done.

if you do buy insurance and pay monthly (with a view to canceling it) just be careful of the fine print. i canceled mine after 4 months (not intentional when i took out the policy) and it cost me more in cancellation fees than to let the policy run out! and they only told me the price after they had irrevocably canceled my policy.........just my experience mind

When it comes to big overland trips cops, like all people are easily impressed. I have been stopped well over a hundred times and I had the correct documentation maybe once and I have still been bought vodka more times (3) than charged (1)

We are all human, and being a good person will get you through a lot of red-tape that would stop you in your tracks if you were an arse-hole - so don't be an arse-hole!!

As long as you are riding normally, and not like a hooligan, then don't worry.
