Do I need a carnet for Nepal
I'm renting an Indian registered bike in Delhi and going into nepal for two weeks. Do I need a carnet.
In addition, is there a fee charged at the border when taking vehicles in? Any info on fuel supplies would be welcome tks |
You don't need a carnet, you just need the paperwork from the rental shop. You should carry the original registration, but some shops give you a copy (plastic card). That what happend to me and the border crossing was smooth anyway. On arrival you will have to pay for your visa and a small fee for the bike, if I remember well.
Which border post will you go thru? I've been thru Bhimdatta and it went fine. |
I was there on an Indian registered bike a couple of months ago and passed into and out of the country without any problem. As has been said have all of the paperwork and you should not have a problem.
If you don't have one an international driving licence is a good thing to have, I have been asked for mine twice now and getting petrol in Nepal is not a problem. I entered at Nepalgunj but be aware some of the crossing points are for Indian and Nepalese nationals only. |
Hi all,
Can someone tell me if it’s possibilite to cross the border from Dareeling to Nepal (Pashupatinagar I think) or is that one for nepalese or Indian nationals only? I’ll drive a rented motorbike from India |
