Bike transport to Iceland
 

Dear bikers,

We are planning a trip with our own bikes to Iceland.

• 4 Bikes (BMW R 1200 GSa)
• We all live near Antwerp (Belgium)
• We want to start driving on the 20th of may
• We want to return on the 30th of may

Can anyone help us with the coördinates of a shipping company that is able to ship the bikes from Antwerp to Reijkjavik (iceland) ?

Has anyone some fine travel tips (must sees, do's and don'ts precautions,...)?

Can anyone give us some good lodgingadvice ?

There is a ferry going from Hanstholm, Denmark. See here: HOME and another one from Scotland.

Unless you want to ship your bikes seperately, this would be the only possibilities.

Just a thought: May is very early for Iceland regardings temperatures :eek3: In July/August I found the weather to be bearable.

I think you are going to be lucky to get your bikes shipped there. It may be possible but I suspect you will have to lose use of them for several weeks in each direction.

Also, as Vaufi says, May is really too early for Iceland. You need to go no sooner than mid June really....especially on bikes. The highland roads won't open till then anyway.
