Belize - Honduras
 

Does anyone know whether it is possible to ferry directly from Belize to Honduras, so skipping Guatemala? I have found some 'taxi's' for people, but not big enough for two bik bikes....

why would you want to do such a thing ???

one border less... and Guatemala seems not to be the safest country in C-A...
We do not need to skip it, but I want to investigate the options.

Skipping Guatemala means missing the best part of Central America !
Guatemala is as safe as any other Latin American country .

Anyway , there is no direct ferry service from Belize to Honduras . You can get a boat , big enough for 2 bikes,from Punta Gorda(southern part of Belize) to Puerto Barrios . From there it is only 1 hour ride to the border of Honduras .

There is a water taxi service from Dangriga to Puerto Cortes in Honduras, but it is only a passenger boat service.There have been in the past posts from people who have struggled their bikes onto one of these boats and made te trip.
But I also must ask WHY????
If you are on a motorcycle adventure RIDE why would you short change yourself because of some preconceived notion of "danger" in Guatemala.
It is more dangerous to venture out onto the open ocean with an overloaded little boat sailing on a little Iphone navigation apppppppp.

I have to agree with this, I've taken this ferry, your a long way out to sea in a very small boat.

I crossed from Belize to Guatemala a few months ago. No problems and a great country to visit and ride through.
