Air Freight from Dili - North America? Possible?

Hello all & greetings from Dili, Timor L'Este! We are planning on sending our bike the usual way by sea with Toll but the boat leaves in over 2 weeks and we have some crazy schedule restrictions now. Lame I know but we were contemplating the possibility of skipping Australia, Sending the bike air freight to North America and riding Alaska instead...

Does anyone have any ideas or contacts? I think the only way would be to route thru Singapore via Silk Air but they are so far unwilling to deal with dangerous goods. Will try to sweet talk them.

Many thanks to the Amazing HU community!

Si & Jeff

Looks like we are going with sea freight via Singapore. Toll wants over $300 to crate the bike, double what we paid in India. Anyone have any suggestions for crating in Dili?

An update for anyone who is interested... Total price for sea freight including crating was $1800 from Dili to Vancouver via Singapore. No ETA yet as the first boat broke down so the bike still sits in Dili. I expect at least 6 weeks but its all good. We hopped Asia a bit on the way home (DC) to take care of some family stuff where we will wait on it. Despite this, Lenor with Toll in Dili is a pleasure to deal with.

Contact Information

Could you please provide the contact information for the shipping company used to transport your motorcycle to Vancouver?

We used Toll, the same company everyone uses for Dili-Darwin. The contact is Lenor.Castulo@tollgroup.com

After Singapore it got transferred thru another shipper & freight forwarder which was a big saga (detailed on another post - Sea Freight Delay)

Air freight from Dili was impossible, the airline just won't do it.

Thank you very much for the quick response. I'll use this information when I make it to Indonesia on my way to Darwin.
