who has ACTUALLY done Sth & Middle America on a Chilean bike as a foreigner??

As title says, who has ACTUALLY traveled Sth & Middle America on a Chilean bike as a FOREIGNER?

It´s becoming apparent to me now after I purchased my motorcycle that it may not be possible afterall and that most people giving advice may have been speaking hypothetically, realising this after I was turned around at the border on my way to Mendoza.

So has someone here actually done it or should I try to sell the bike, recover my losses and jump on the bus?

Contact the Chilean community

Hey, no, I have not done it.
BUT:
I know that KTM Chile, Mr Roland Spaarwater, has KTM rental bikes for foreigners that with a certain permission paper can travel around Chile, Argentina and Bolivia. In fact I had met 2 Americans in Santiago ready to leave. KTM Chile - Sport MotorCycles
I am sure that his shop is willing to answer some of your questions if you contact them.
He might be superbusy right now as the Dakar runs through his hometurf and he is sponsoring some Racers, but give it a try.
Good luck.

This may not be the best idea, but have you heard of a 'hungarian carnet" or something simular? False documents will get you through boarders, until your home country, then you will have a problem. Like I said, not the best idea, but many have done it in the past, usually in Africa. I suggest you ask some of the older african travelers what they have done in the past.

Good Luck
