VISA for turkey, how much time to complete?

i will pass the iran-turkey border in september this year. turky embassy homepages tell that the borders will give visa for tourists but they don´t tell anything about how long the border-officals need for. has anyone experience on this, and if, where is the crossing least complicated?
does it take hours or days to compete?

thanks in advance, matthias

Visas have never been an issue during my trips through TR. 10 min., maybe? I don't think you even need a visa, if you are an EU citizen, but I'm not sure. They just stamped my (German) passport.

Carnet processing definitely takes a lot longer.

well, turkeys du not treat all EU citizens the same. germans don´t need one, austrians have to pay 15€ at the border and 60€ at the embassy.

how long does the carnet need to complete?
