Visa list

Hi
I've got dual citizenship with SA and Ireland.
So does anyone know if there is a list of countries you need a visa for which each passport? Or do I need to contact each embassy individually?

cheers
Ian

Most Embassy websites have detailed info on Visa requirements by nationality. Otherwise do a search for the respective country's Tourist information wesbite which will detail their requirements, procedures, timings etc. Took me half an hour of Googling to confirm requirements from LDN - CT.

But then again I am only going end of next year so by then everything will have changed anyway ;-). Who knows we might be part of the African Union with open borders for citizens of member states (in our dreams)

I too have dual nationality but will be travelling on my SA passport all the way but taking my other passport along just in case it might come handy.

Crossing African borders and trying to explain that you are actually a citizen of more than one country will just confuse matters and result in further "redistrubution of wealth".

Last time I check there was no much difference in visa requirements between SA and UK passports but Namibian surprising required the least visas.

Ian,

Found this site useful http://www.rainbownation.com/visa/africa.asp

However this is only for applying from SA. This site has a list of requriments for each country.
http://www.excite.co.uk/travel/guides/africa

However I'm goign to call each embassy to find out definitively, I just need to fidn the time between work. I have 4 months to sort this out so the pressure is on, I will share any info I find out by e-mail or by posting here.

Cheers,
JP

Cape to London

Technophobe,

When are you planning on leaving and what route are you doing? I'm heading north from Capetown in September and from what I can see on a UK passport the visas should mostly be available at the border - certainly for a mainly east-coast route.

Needs more looking into and like you, with 4 months to go, there's time to plan but don't leave it too long - if you have to send a passport away this can take ages.

some more info

got this when i email www.transworldvisas.com
i'm on a SA and Irish passport.

Blurb below:
Right. You should obviously travel on your Irish passport as far as Morrocco as you do not need a visa to go to any of these places

Mauritania - Visa Needed
Mali – Visda needed
Niger – Visa on arrival (S..A passport)
Libya – Visa Needed
Egypt – Visa on Arrival (Irish Passport)
Sudan –Visa needed
Ethiopia – On Arrival (S.A Passport)
Kenya – no visa required (S.A Passport)
Tanzania – On Arrival (S.A Passport)
Malawi – No visa needed (S.A Passport)
Zambia – No visza needed (S.A Passport)
Botswana – No visa needed (S.A Passport)

Due to the complexity of your trip ( and that half of the embassies you will need to visit are in france I woulod recommend applying in person rather than using an agency. Have a look at www.wtgonline.com for a good idea of the visa requirements and the addresses of the embassies.
