visa extension in mongolia
 

Hi guys,
i will start end of april going over the silk-road to mongolia.
already i have an 30 days touris visa for mongolia.
my plan is to enter mongolia from russia in the west close by Tsagaannuur.
as i found out it is possible to extend your visa in UB within 7 days?
is this correct and are there any other possibilities?

i have an business visa for russia with multible entry but i dont want to go out to get a new mongolia visa.

Really easy to extend your Mongolian Visa at the Embassy in UB for $50(ish) Just a few forms and you are done no worries.

Why would there be a Mongolian embassy in the capitol of Mongolia??
That would be like looking for a UK embassy in London (pretty sure there isn't one).
Do you mean an immigration office or something?

as i know it is easy to extend my Visa in UB.
But my problem is I have to do this as soon as possible in the first
7 days of arrival in Mongolia.
But i will enter the Country in the west by Tsagaannuur and can not go to UB in 7 days.
is there any way to extend my Visa later in UB?

You can extend your visa anytime. The first 7 days rule, if it ever existed, is no longer in force, or at keast it wasn't in 2010.

The only thing to mention is that you can only extend once with I think 6 months, even on separate visas.

The usual Mong visa is 30 days. How long can it be extended for?

In order to do my summer trip (according to plan A) I need 3 further weeks. I'm flying into UB in early July and flying out in late August. In between I'm riding around Siberia.

Hi interested on this. If I get a visa from London, it will be about to expire by the time I get to Mongolia, next year. If I can only extend my visa in UlaanBaatar, my visa will be expired by then. Is that allowed????
Or can the visa extension be granted outside of UB?

Mongolian tourist visa dates work differently from most others. The dates on the visa is relevant ONLY regarding your date of entry to Mongolia. Those dates (3 months usually) are not applicable to the full duration of your time in Mongolia.

You only need to ENTER Mongolia by the expiry date on the visa. In effect, the visa is an entry visa. On entry you are granted 30 days in country - even if the date of entry is the final date on the visa.

I do not believe Mongolian visa extensions are available anywhere but UB. Not even anywhere else in Mongolia. The longest they can issue your entry visa for is 3 months from date of issue.
