Vehicle in my company's name - problem in Morocco?

Hi, does somebody have experience with the following scenario? I want to go to Morocco with a vehicle that is registered in my company's name, not in my name as an individual. I have read somewhere that there might be a problem if the vehicle is not registered in my name. Would it help if I had an extract from the company register, translated into French/Arabic, which showed that I am the only shareholder and director of the company that owns the vehicle? I know it would be simpler if I owned the vehicle directly, but I do not necessarily want to lose the tax/VAT benefits of owning the car through the company. Thanks in advance for your feedback/suggestions. Martin

Papers.

I know of a British couple who had exactly this problem in Romania about six years ago. They found some documents on their laptop to convince the officers. Fortunately they had the laptop with them. It seems therefore unlikely you'll have a problem, but a company document and letter as you say would seem to be sufficeint if the issue is raised. Lindsay.

I'm pretty sure that all you need is a letter from your company stating that you are authorised to use the vehicle and the V5.

Your original suggestion is too complicated to explain.

A mismatch between the V5 and the person bringing the vehicle into Morocco is quite a common situation, especially with companies shipping several bikes in on a trailer whilst their clients fly into Marrakech.

+1 for Big Yellow Tractor's suggestion of a letter on company headed paper. Make it nice and flowery words. Embossed with the company seal would impress! English is fine, French as well would be good but not really necessary. Don't bother with Arabic.

Check out the post 'Fill out your temporary import forms' on the UKGSer Morocco forum and do this before you leave.
