USA title transfer or Power of Attorney
Hi, I am UK citizen hoping to sell my Colorado Titled bike to another fellow Englishman in Punta Arenas Chile. I want to make the sale legal as possible, without too much bending of the rules. My understanding is that there are only two ways to do this:
1. The buyer finds a willing person in the USA who would kindly provide an address to which the bike could be registered to, and obviously assist with the paperwork. 2. I (seller), obtain a (Power of Attorney), stating all the country's that the buyer will travel through and then ultimately sell the bike, while the bike is still registered in my name. I assume that the document would be issued by an Attorney or someone representing the legal side of life. Has any fellow traveller had first hand experience of doing the sale this way. I would really appreciate if this situation could be clarified, and any suggestions on how and where to obtain the document would help a lot. Regards. Andy. |
hey andy.
I am currently in that same situation in Santiago at the moment. I have only tomorrow to work with the owners to get permission from the owners to sell the bike in the future. I have permission that was signed by them and myself at a notary but I would like to have more. how did you go about this without sending all the info back to the US? I will not be taking the bike back to the US so I don“t need registration. Alos both states that I have addresses(CA and FL) need to see the bikes VIN so I wouldnt be able to go that route. CAn you provide some insight? JEff shaferslife@gmail.com |
