UK bike or car lost V5 quick fix
 

The day of your trip comes and you realise you've lost your V5. Phone DVLA explain you need a new one quickly as you are leaving today or next day. You will have to pay £25 ( Aug 2014 ) A new one will come in the post 3-5days. They will also issue a fax / email temp V5 ( V379 ) for this you will need to fill in and sign a form send it back with ID licence / passport copy/scan. They will then email you a V379 to print and take with you valid for 6 months. DO NOT BELIEVE THE SPOTTY TEENAGER WHO SAYS IT CAN'T BE EMAILED! As of Monday 4th August 2014 they can email the V379. Lady I dealt with was Sara and it all went quite quickly - 30mins or so and it was in my hand.

The one issue was being able to email it back with it "signed". I got round it. If you have a fax then no problem.

I will post back my experience with it at borders on my return.
