Turkmenistan transit visa from Central Asia?
 

Has anyone recently (in the past few months) applied for a visa in either Almaty, Tashkent, Bishkek or Dushanbe? What was the process, and did you succeed in getting the visa? Thanks!!

I did but 5 years ago from Dushambe. I tried first in Astana but the consol there gave me good explanation for transit visa.
They give transit visa only if you have the visa to the next country you are going. I guess you are going to Iran after. So you should have Iranian visa. If not there is no point for them to give the transit visa.
When I was in Astana I had just Arzebajan Visa so he told me from Kazakistan to Arzebajan there is a ferry so you don't need Turkmenistan visa. Then I applied from Dushambe. First I got transit visa from Iran and then transit visa of Turkmenistan. 2 weeks !!!! And I was lucky to get Iranian transit as they even wanted the invitation letter for a transit. Then I had to used my Italian Charm and got in 10 min :))))
