Turkish temporary insurance.

Hi all.
I will be entering Turkey in about 3/4 weeks from the little Greek Island of Chios. I will be entering Turkey at the Port of Cesme and hopefully traveling to Izmir for the Honda Goldwing Meeting. Do any of you know where I can get temporary insurance to cover me for a few weeks or a month while I'm there as no one I know has entered into Turkey via Cesme and every insurance agent I have been in touch with keeps telling me they can only do insurance if I have a Turkish Government Tax number. I'm getting to the stage of contemplating leaving the bike at a hotel in Chios and just catching the ferry and not going to the Honda Meeting at all and just meeting up with some Turkish friends who live in Izmir which I was hoping to pay a surprise visit to.
Any advise would be well appreciated. Oh someone told me the Automobile Club of Turkey do Insurance but I emailed them and got the response of we don't do it for foreign Vehicles.

Wrong info you got from the customs.

Next time you can email us or anyone else at borderinsurance@lobagola.com and we'll provide a solution.
