Travelling to Ukraine - help needed!
 

I am wanting to travel to Kiev by bike and then flying back home to the UK whilst someone flies out to Kiev to ride the bike home. I'm concerned about a couple of things:- all the info that I can see suggests that I don't need a Carnet, but I'm not so sure....will I? Secondly, will it be a problem if the rider of the bike is not the person listed on the registration document? Will insurance be a problem? Any comments would be appreciated.

You will probably need a written authorization to ride a bike registered in somebody else's name. Plus, if the bike is stamped into your passport...

Best to check with the Ukrainian embassy for the exact requirements. Try to get answers in writing, as border guards may try to make the rules as they go...
