Temporary Import Two Bikes Under my name to Chile?
 

I'm wondering if this is allowed, I read one comment somewhere that Chile will not allow a foreigner to temporarily import 2 motorcycles. The reason I'm asking about this is I have a friend that wants to join me on a trip to Patagonia next year who doesn't have a bike. We are both from Canada and I'd air freight both bikes into Santiago, Chile and then ship them out of Buenos Aires, Argentina once the trip is completed. We will be crossing the borders on the trip at least 5 times I believe between Chile and Argentina. Any information on this would be greatly appreciated.

When a friend and I both shipped our bikes to Chile some years ago to save money we put them on the same paperwork and even that caused a problem even with both bikes in our own names, I expect this could cause a bigger one.
