sudan visas in egypt
 

arrrgggghhh! after getting to cairo from the uk we are now in cairo without a sudanese visa. we did apply in london but by the time we had to leave they had still not come through! In the lonely plane guide it says that visas can be picked up in aswan in a day.... is this true? an oficial at the sudanese embassy in cairo said we needed a letter of recomendation from the british embassy and that it would take ten days! an official at the british embassy we happened to bump into said he had never heard of that but it would take ten days. he said you couldn't get visas in aswan, but he admitted he didn't work in the consular section.

1. can we get next day visas for sudan in aswan?
2. how sure are you?
3. does the ferry really go every monday?
