Sudan Visa from Cairo
 

Hi all,

We'll be traveling from Egypt into Sudan and will need to get our Sudanese visa in Cairo. I have noted that we may need a letter of introduction from our Embassy (South Africa or UK) to the Sudanese Embassy. Has anyone done this who can tell us a little more? Any other tips for obtaining this Visa in Cairo?

Letter of Introduction
 

Hi. In regards to a letter of introduction, there was a Brit and a South African with us this past month that applied for visas in Cairo. I know that the Brit picked up his letter of introduction same day, no hassle. The SA picked his up same or next day, no hassle. can't remember if they paid the general going rate of $50 or got it cheaper. Some consulates issue a letter stating that they don't issue letters anymore and this suffices for the stringent Sudanese process who just need a form. If you can get it done for free at home, get them to do it. If you can't, then you can just get it done there. You will certainly not be the first to show up with that request.:)
