Semi-Urgent: Green Card for Canadian in UK?

Hi, due to having a moto stolen and subsequently set on fire (will make separate post in Trip Stories for any one curious about reading about this), I am about two weeks behind on a trip I was hoping to do and just learned my insurance plan (Lobagola / Dooby) is no longer able to offer insurance to Canadians.

As such, I am wondering if anyone knows a provider than can sell Green Card insurance to a Canadian who owns a UK-registered bike.

Apologies if there is already a thread discussing this, I admittedly have only done about 20 mins of research as I am somewhat in panic mode.

Thanks very much!

Why not get Green Card coverage from your UK mandatory insurance?

What is the reason for this? It sounds odd.

Did you mean "your insurance provider is no longer able to offer insurance for UK registered bikes?"

Sorry when I say "my insurance plan" I meant my original plan (as in gameplan, not insurance plan).

They offered this service last time I was here but I guess they are no longer covering UK bikes for riding in Europe.

I just bought the bike a couple of days ago and was not able to find a UK insurer that would give me a regular policy given that I hold a Canadian license and am not a UK resident

Ah, okay.

Well, when you resolve that problem (which is your first step anyway to ride the bike out of the garage), then that policy should come with a Green Card already, covering most of Europe.

They don’t care about your Canadian licence, but they do care about your residency.

However Adrian Flux/BikeSure will insure a non resident on a UK bike. Green card for the normal European countries was included.

Just to clarify this post, ad OP is not providing correct info and it can cause huge amount of confusion as I have received some private messages asking that are we still providing insurance services at all?

OP is Canadian, have bought UK registered motorcycle, doesn't have residency in UK at all, don't pay taxes and doesn't have bare legal minimum coverage for the bike to get it registered. Hence in this condition the bike is not road worthy and is not registered until he gets bare legal minimum coverage.

That bare legal minimum coverage IS NOT GREEN CARD insurance as majority of people are calling, but it is third party liability coverage that provides coverage also in the country where the motorcycle is registered.

We have provided all the reasoning in the email conversation, why we are not providing coverage any more for NON UK RESIDENTS THAT BUY MOTORCYCLE IN THE UK. Reason is that the UK retail market is very small (non UK residents that buy bikes in UK), we had terrible accidents as riding is on the opposite side, hence our insurance pool that is underwriting our product wasn't interested to provide liquidity and more.
We are still present in the UK B2B market and provide coverage for most of the motorcycle tour operators in UK, Scotland, Ireland and Wales.

So these are the facts, that I needed to put out so the community is aware of the correct information and arguments why we are not providing third party liability coverage in UK retail market for non UK residents.
