Selling US bike in Panama
Hello all,
I've done a search and can't find the info I need. Has anyone sold a foreign-registered bike in Panama recently? On my end, I'm concerned that that vehicle import stamp in my passport means they won't let me out of the country without the bike; on the buyer's end, I'm wondering if he needs full-on original and official paperwork to leave the country and to enter the US, or if we can do some creative forging. Any experiences? Thanks, Sarah |
well since no one replied
I know you can sell in Costa Rica to a Tico or other that is resident there,
but it will be cheap as they have to pay the import duty. Cheap but legal. I think I remember you can't in Panama because of so many motorcycles in the past that were stolen and run over the border. Or advertise and sell to a world rider, you might have to take it into Costa Rica to sell it though...they do check your stamps in Pasporte when leaving Panama. So no way out of that is my hit Zig |
