Russian visa in Mongolia
Hi guys,
Me and my friend are travelling to Mongolia soon and the plan was to enter Russia from Mongolia. I have being reading that the Russian are getting tougher on visa regulations and are often not issuing visas to peoples that are foreigners in the country they are applying in. Also heard that the Russian embassy in Ulaan Bataar is especially bad. Does anybody have experience of this? We are from Iceland and we believed we could easily get visa in Mongolia because two Icelanders doing similar trip in 2006 got it easily. Cheers, Ingo |
I was there in 2006 June and saw a few Dutch have a tough time. If you're going to try...use the local agency UB to secure your Russian visa LOI.
Get in touch with them BEFORE you arrive in UB. It takes about 1 week if you're lucky. |
This is something I looked into doing and was told I'd be stuffed.

Consulate of Russian Federation | Генеральное конÑульÑтво Ð*оÑÑии в Шанхае First we were thinking of going to Mongolia and try get the visa. If we would not be able to get it the Russian embassy back home said we could send the passport and doccuments to them. But I think the other option just getting it in Shanghai. Cheers, Ingó |
