Russian visa

Hi,

I am finding abit of conflicting information on the internet about Russian visas, their cost, time it takes to get it back and which type does what.

I want to enter Russia, to into Kazakhstan, back into Russia, into Mongolia and back into Russia. I will be starting from pretty much as west as you can get and end up in Vladivostok. So really I want a visa that lasts about 3 months which looks like a business visa, but what would be my excuse to have a business visa when I am not a business man!
Please help or share your experience.

Cheers, Fletch

Hi,

This has been discussed to death in many threads. Search also in Northern Asia Forum, and key "Russia visa".

Yes you need a multi entry business Visa and it has to be done from your home country, i.e. from your profile it has to be done in the UK before you go. You cannot get it on the go.

Getting a business Visa is fairly straightforward, only expensive!
Good luck. Give it plenty of time as the LOI for British nationals can take at least 4 weeks , then you have to do the biometrics and submit application to the embassy, another 2 weeks to process, unless you pay extra for speed.

Cheers,

I am travelling to the same countries (same multiple Russian entries this summer). My visa for Russia is currently being processed by realrussia.co.uk
Been gone about 18 days now and I am still waiting. The last time I think it took about 3 weeks, but back then there was no biometric data requirements. Not been to give prints yet.

Yes same here. Been three weeks now for my LOI with RealRussia.
Two years ago it was faster.
Hopefully I should get the LOI next week so I can go for the biometrics and get the visa after that! Bureaucratic but straightforward. Just get through the motions.

It usually takes me about 4 to 5 weeks to get Russian visas renewed, and that's going through an experienced visa broker.

Just heard from Real Russia, its time to go and give my prints. Will probably go on Thursday. Maria, or anybody else, do you know how long I am likely to be at the Embassy?

Last year (for my tourist visa) it took about 5 minutes to get it done. They just take your finger prints and review the full pack. Then you are out.

The longest was to wait for a RealRussia person to come and give me the pack. But I am usually fairly early as don't like to be late and public transports in London are rather unreliable!

Lots of people outside waiting for their agent! :)
Just been told my LOI will arrive on the 25th so hope to get the biometrics done early next week....
