Hello. Has anyone got any recent experience in obtaining insurance at the Finland / Russian border crossing at Salla? OR obtaining in advance on-line

On line purchase is not available for quite some time.

For the last 2 years is really a nightmare to get one at the border. Even russian motorcycle tour operators are without solution for clients coming on their tours with their own bikes.

We're working on the product for Russia and if everything will be ok it will be out in April this year.

Not on that order, but last summer I got an Russian Insurance for my in Belgium registered motorcycle right at the Russian side of the border on the road from Rezekbe,LV to Velikije Lucky, RU
Took 5 minutes and it was cheap

My last experience dates from 2016. It was very easy and fast at the Vladikavkaz border.
Insurance was still valid when crossing with Latvia, Estonia and Finland so didn't need to buy there but I did see insurance brokers at all of those borders as well.
