Registering a Motorcycle in the USA - Montana
 

Starting a RTW trip.

Just flew into the US(I'm a US citizen that lives abroad).

Have been scouring the western US for the bike I want - can't find any used models so need to buy new.

Cheapest place to buy new is Montana but from talking to dealers and the DMV, I'm told I need to be a resident.

A British guy posted on here in 2011 that he registered his bike fine in MT. Not sure if he bought new.

Does anyone here live in or have recent experience of buying bikes for RTW trips in MT? I've been trying to embark on my trip for the last month, just running into brick walls.
