Registering a bike in US as a tourist?
 

Hi
I’m planning to buy a motorcycle from US next autumn while I’m spending a month in San Fransisco. I would need to register the bike in my name cause I’m shipping it to South-America after that. How do I need to plan it if I want to register the bike in my name in the US since I’m not a US citizen (I’m from Europe)? What are the actions/steps and how much time should I reserve for the process?

I also need to find a dealer who could help me in the shipping/aircargo process to S-A or handle the whole thing.

I'm shipping bikes to the US, but many people advised to buy once you arrive.

Do you have friend in the US whose address you could use?

There is a thread about this subject here, basically foreigners can register vehicles in their name in some places and not others, a friend's experience is that whether you can or not varies from one office to another within the same state.
