RAC Carnets @ Bike Show, NEC, Birmingham

Hi

I hope Grant will not object if I promote RAC Carnets via HU !!

For those of you visiting the Bike Show @ NEC Birmingham (24 November - 2 December), I will be on the RAC Stand (Hall 2/Stand 261) to promote carnets to those travellers (motorcyclists & others!) planning to tour outside Europe in 2008 or still to be decided - its never to early to start budgeting !

The HU Travellers Meeting 2007@ Lumbs Farm was both enjoyable & exhausting ! Despite the inclement Summer weather, it was great to meet up with so many motorcyclists & meet contacts established over the years.

I will have all application forms & notes available, as per RAC website, so please take the opportunity to visit the RAC stand to discuss your travel plans or just say Hi !!

I will be in attendence from Saturday 24 through to Tuesday 27 November only. Other weekdays to be decided but not the final weekend (1/2 December).

Bike Show Opening hours 10am to 6pm.

Regards

Paul Gowen

Hi Paul,

I know I can speak for EVERYONE on this Hubb when I say that we are so in debt to yourself for your the endless hours of help and advise that you give to those of us that choose to use the Carnet when we travel abroad.

You saved me about £1,500 for the trip paperwork last year, and because of you and your effort I will be traversing Africa in a few short weeks as I'm currently in Italy on the beach.

Yours in Gratitude

Everyone on the HUBB

I'm going Friday 23 and then again with mates on Friday 30, so it looks like I'll miss you. Pity.

Roi/Bronwen

Paul Gowen actually just gave me these guys as a shipping contact to Australia, worth enquiring. Its looking like around £1,000 (ouch) all in for shipping mine to Melbourne.

James Cargo Services IATA, AATA, IPATA and DEFRA approved Cargo Agent

good luck!

Thanks for comments & feedback regarding my post - appreciated !

If I was @ NEC all week I would get complaints that I was not contactable @ RAC so I cannot win ! Fortunately I have colleagues able to field telephone calls in my absence.

I will be leaving a carnet flyer only on the RAC stand when not in attendence & not the full carnet information pack.

Tim/Roi & Bronwen & others : full information & application forms are available via RAC website on this link :

RAC Know-How - Going on a journey - Driving abroad - Carnet de Passage

Alternatively, please call me direct on 01454 208304 to discuss your travel plans - I prefer telephone calls to email contact !

RAC Carnets @ NEC Bike Show - Friday 30 Nov. only !

Thanks to those HUBBers that took the time to say hi to me on RAC stand during my 4 days at the show - great to put faces to names !

I will be in attendence tomorrow (Friday 30 Nov) so Tim Cullis if you see this in time, the RAC stand is in Hall 2 close to the Carole Nash stand.

BTW - Sid & others .. the main reason you visit the Show is to surely check out the new bike models & get your equipment etc.. other "models" viewed are the icing on the cake :-) I hereby wish to state that being @ the Show for 4 days does allow extensive viewing & does not impact on work .. I rest my case .. hopefully ? 2007 alternative "models" can be viewed on the official Bike Show website ....

Regards

Paul
