Obtaining a Carnet in Abu Dhabi
 
Hello,

I left my US registered bike in Romania after riding it from Florida. I have a US passport.

For the next couple of month I'll be working Abu Dhabi. While I'm here I want to get a Carnet so I can continue riding through Turkey, Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, Djabouti, Yemen, Oman, and UAE. Shipping/ferry to India from UAE.

Am I able to get a Carnet over seas or do I need to go to a US/canadian Embassy back home?

A Carnet can only be issued by the "authorized" auto club (not embassy) of the vehicle's registration country.
In the case of US registered bikes, the "authorized" auto club happens to
be the Canadian Automobile Assoc
