hey man, just if its useful for someone.
I got Niger visa in Burkina (Visa entente), very easy and same day after talking with some nice/serious lady.
From Nuakchot i took a bus to Bamako, direct bus, i think it goes through some dangerous place that i wouldnt recommend right now without up to date info. From Mali to Niger is an easy trip from capital to capital, but i did travel in mali (wonderful country, my fav Mopti, Djenne, Dogon).

Hope it helps some traveler around,

Pablo

I assume this information is from your 2016 trip, since a lot has changed since then. Traveling within Mali is problematic these days, and the route between Mopti and Niger rather risky on both sides of the border. Also, it’s been a while since I heard about anyone getting a visa entente. Calling it an “easy trip” doesn’t really sound right.

If anyone with recent information wants to correct me, I’ll be interested in hearing about it. I was last through there over a decade ago, during what now looks like a brief, calm interlude.

What route does (did) the bus take? Its been a few years since I was last down there but I was looking at all options for travelling between Nouakchott and Bamako when I was and never came across any mention of a bus. Further south in Senegal and within Mali, yes, and I've travelled around there quite a bit by bus but not from Nk.

everything changes

There you go B-O-B, according to Rome2Rio which I have just looked at.
This could prove useful to someone - over 26 hours' travel it seems and a smidge over 1430 Kms in a overloaded bus with no windows (natural air-con) could prove a tad uncomfortable...
