New Mongolian Visa Policy.

Hello!

I'm from Spain and I want to enter Mongolia with my motorcycle this August. I can't get my Visa in Spain because I would only have 90 days to reach Mongolia.

Do you know if it's easy to get a Mongolian Visa in Ankara (Turkey) or Tashkent (Uzbekistan), and how long would it take?

Any other ideas would be welcome!

Thanks a lot,

oRc

I too am looking for an answer to this question.

I am from the UK and we are heading through Mongolia at some point in late August or September. The problem is that if we apply for the visa before we leave then we will fall short of the 90 day validity date before we even get anywhere near Mongolia as we leave early May.

It would be great if we could get the Mongolian Visas on the road, as there seems to be no new information regarding anyone being able to do so since the visa policy changed on the 1st January 2016.

I have been enquiring about the Mongolian Visa from the Visa service company Real Russia here in the UK. Here is how it seems to work :

You will need an official invitation as well as details of your accommodation for every night of your stay (apparently you can just book a cheap hostel and try get a refund after the Visa is granted).

It'd be great if I could just sort this on the Road like in Turkey or Greece.

Anyone have any ideas at all?

I got Mongolian visas in Almaty and Ulan Ude; both times the process was simple (UK passport). In Almaty I got the visa next-day, in UU I think I waited 3 or 4 days.

Was this after 1st January 2016?

It was in 2010.

Awch :(

They have made things real difficult since 1st January 2016. Full invitation and complicated Visa procedure now. Russian Style.

Really??

That sounds pretty crazy, judging how much Mongolia makes on tourism. Maybe like India they decided they want 'higher quality' tourists.

If you have a German, US or Israeli passport you can get in visa free still I believe.
