Mercosur Insurance Valparaiso
 

I've been looking around where I can get myself a mercosur insurance in Valparaiso, Chile.
So far I've been turned away at several insurance companies stating they can not supply an insurance to a foreigner/foreign motorcycle.

I was wondering if anybody knows a place around Valparaiso where I could get an insurance?
From what I've read they don't let you pass the border with Argentina without insurance so I would like to get this sorted in the next few days.

One year ago when I was there it was considered impossible to buy insurance in Chile. The standard tactic for people staying in Santiago out Valparaiso was to buy it in Mendoza, Argentina. No one I met/ heard of had any trouble getting across the border without it. If you need addresses of insurance sellers in Mendoza look on IOverlander

I crossed the border yesterday and arrived in Mendoza, nobody asked for the insurance so all good.

There were some police checkpoints on the way to Mendoza but they waved me through each time :thumbup1:
